Everyone who grew up in the 80's should be familiar with 'Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?' Am I right?! Well, here is my version 'Where in the World Is Rachael Kerner?' Who can name where in the Capital District I am? I absolutely love this wall, so I finally stopped and took the time to admire it to it's fullest. I would love to know who created this amazing work of art.
There is nothing more beautiful than bringing new life into this world. I spent my morning photographing baby Benedict and thought he would be a perfect fit for Day 3 of 'Life is beautiful, Appreciate it!'
This barn has been ingrained in my memory since I was a child. It is in my hometown and every time I drove by it, it would catch my eye. Today I took the time to photograph it. The man made vs. nature theme here has always been a combination that has interested me.
I have decided to dedicate my blog to all things beautiful. This is how I have come to this decision. I am a Mom of two beautiful and exhausting children, I am a photographer, I am a wife, I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, a cook, a nurse, I am whatever everyone needs to me to be at the drop of a dime. I love my life and I would not change one single second of one single day of it. This morning for the first time in a long time, I walked past the window and stopped in my tracks to admire the amazing sunrise. I let my daughter call out to me a dozen times that she wanted her milk that second. I let my son pull on my pant leg disappointed that I did not pick him up immediately, and I stood in awe of the sunrise like I had never witnessed such a beautiful thing before. Then I grabbed my camera!! That is when I realized that I am missing out on so many beautiful things just because I THINK that I don't have the time to experience them. And this is when I decided to create a blog that will challenge me to essentially "stop and smell the roses" on a daily basis. I hope that my readers will be inspired to do the same. I encourage you to grab your camera, camera phone, disposable (do they still make those?!) and photograph one beautiful thing a day, then post it to my blog! So here is my first photo of my 'Life is Beautiful, Appreciate it!' blog...the sunrise that inspired me.
Have I mentioned that I love my job? I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing little Benedict Robert just moments after he was born. He is absolutely perfect.
I know it's crazy but I'm already starting to get into Christmas mode. I have decided that this year I am going to be offering calendars (Wall or Locker size). This could make a great gift idea for, really, anyone. Ladies, you could give your significant other a full 12 month calendar of YOU, Boudoir style. OR, Grandparents and Great Grandparents would LOVE a calendar of their grandchildren to look at every day. I have been gearing up and brainstorming some new Christmas themed poses and props for all genres. 'Tis the season people....Let's get it started!!
What an amazing day I had with these two beauties yesterday. Here is a little sneak peek at their photo shoot.
